함은 건축을 ‘옷(Filter)’이자, ‘기억의 지형(Mnemonic Terrain)’이라고 믿습니다.

건축은 빛과 공기, 소리와 시선은 물론, 사람과의 관계까지 선별적으로 거르고 투과시키는 커다란 체(體)입니다. 우리는 이것을 ‘옷으로서의 건축’, 즉 Filter의 건축이라 부릅니다.

동시에 건축은 시간이 축적되고, 기억이 새겨지며, 서서히 닳고 풍화되는 지형입니다. 우리는 이것을 '기억의 지형으로서의 건축’, 즉 Mnemonic Terrain의 건축이라 부릅니다.

함은 두 속성 사이에서,

바르고 귀하며 아름다운 건축의 실질적 경험을 조율합니다.

HAAM believes that architecture is both a “Filter” and a “Mnemonic Terrain.”

Architecture is a large sieve—filtering and transmitting not only light, air, sound, and sight, but also relationships with people. We call this the architecture as clothing: the Filter.

At the same time, architecture is a terrain—where time accumulates, memory is inscribed, and surfaces wear and weather. We call this the architecture as landscape: the Mnemonic Terrain.

HAAM navigates between these two qualities—orchestrating architectural experiences that are Authentic, Worthwhile and Beautiful.
